Poetry (Day 287): Dear Kelly

Dear Kelly

I wanted to write
you a letter
with pen and ink,
so I found a sheet
of old, thick,
textured paper.
And, pen in hand,
I sat and stared.

In the end,
I put aside the pen
and left the page blank.

Because, behind
the words and gestures
inhabiting the surface
of our everyday,
is the texture
and the color
and the weave of moments,

that truly tells the story
of our love.
