Poetry (Day 252): The Moment

The Moment

She never stops,
but today she does.

Whisper of drizzle.

She steps under the shelter
and smiles at him as she adjusts
her umbrella,
her coat,
her bag.
Then she is gone,
into the smudge of rain,
before he can say anything.

And the slate grey day
goes on forever.
Opportunity mist.
