Poetry (Day 248): Burnt

Burnt

Your love ripped through me
like a wildfire;
hot and bright and gone
as quickly as it came.

The landscape left behind
was damaged
but not dead.
And the quiet pain of it,
the ache of it,
had a beauty all it’s own.

The beginning of my next adventure
will be coloured black and gold.
