Poetry (Day 221): Wednesday

The lights were out and
the kids were asleep. He

snuggled close. He
kissed her cheek. He
kissed her lips. He
ran his hand along the warm
skin of her thigh. She

stopped him before he
could go any further. “Not tonight,” she
said. I’m tired.” And she
settled down to sleep. He

sighed. Apparently
hump day didn’t mean
what he thought it meant.

*I’m not quite sure what’s going on with the chili and the lemon (orange/whatever) in the picture, but anyway.
