Poetry (Day 178): Classic

Smooth notes
filling the air,
floating in the rafters,
like shining dust motes caught
in the day’s last light.

Classical music
dancing in the community hall
like Cinderellla
at a Blue Light Disco*.

*For those of you who are not Australian, I should point out that Blue LIght Discos are dances, usually held in small towns, as far as I know, that were organised by the local police (hence the ‘blue light’). They were usually held in town halls with a few strobe lights and a bad DJ or 2nd rate band. They were popular last century, not so sure about now.
